She/Her/Hers
Marie Leocadie is a Brooklyn-based ceramic artist whose practice explores the transformative potential of porcelain. Born in Paris and raised in Montreal, she holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and brings over a decade of wheel-throwing expertise to her work.

Leocadie’s approach stretches and contorts porcelain to its limits, embracing the material’s delicate fragility and remarkable strength. She leans into its memory—its ability to retain traces of past forms—to explore themes of resilience, grief, and transformation. Her altered forms and intricate surface designs echo the marks of time on responsive bodies, creating pieces that invite curiosity and contemplation.

Her work has been exhibited at Keepsake Gallery, The Other Art Fair, and Beverly’s, all in 2024. Beyond her studio practice, Leocadie enriches Brooklyn's artistic community by teaching wheel-throwing, sharing her playful spontaneity and deep connection to the material.
